First team play out of Donegal Celtic Park in the Ballymena & District Football League, play in the The Irish Cup, Intermediate Cup & Steel & Sons Cup.

St James swifts was formed in 2010 as a response to anti social problems, the idea was to give young people an opportunity to participate in healthy sporting activity.

We started off as six a side team playing on Friday nights. Today we have 22 teams covering all aspects of our community, incorporating those minorities who often get overlooked, such as Football For All for young people with disabilities, Ladies, over 40s and our newest venture the girls football academy for aged 5 and up. 

The St James community is an area of High unemployment and low levels of education, with very little levels of inward investment. 

The growth of the swifts has quickly become a source of pride for the community, which has been backed by the support and sponsorship from Past St James resident Dave McCartney and DMC contracts ltd, Daves experience and enthusiasm has enticed many sponsors to get behind the swifts project, the club with its close to 400 members has become probably one of the mosted talked about club in Belfast and beyond.. we are extremely proud of our cross community and equality ethos, which drawn so many players to our club.
